Welcome to The (De)collected War of the Worlds. This project offers a critical, accessible presentation of H. G. Wells’s novel as it was published in Pearson’s Magazine in 1897, as well as information related to the novel and its early publication in Britain. One of this project’s goals is to serve as a model for similar projects on other texts, so the site also includes information on each tool used to create it. A description of the site’s scholarly and pedagogical underpinnings is located here. The index describes the site’s contents and how they are organized.
The (De)collected War of the Worlds was recently reviewed by Amanda Visconti for Reviews in Digital Humanities 1.3 (March 2020).
